Wake and Whimsy

Wake and Whimsy’s First Giveaway!

Hello friends!  For those of you that follow my blog, I just want to say thank you. I started this blog in October of 2013, and in four months have reached 100 follows. Although it may not seem like that big of a deal, it makes me excited, because I never expected to have any followers at all. That’s really not why I blog. Blogging is a creative outlet for me and a fun way for me to connect with the world, which is crucial to this stay-at-home-mom’s sanity! Plus, I get to do things I’m passionate about, and share them with all of you. I love hearing your feedback, reading your comments, and also love checking out your blogs and getting to know you as well. So far, this has been a great and fun experience, and I’m excited to continue the journey.

So, to celebrate, I’m doing my first giveaway!

When I did my very first blog post (<–check it out!) back in October, it was about this knitted transitional infinity scarf. To this day, it is one of my most favorite pieces. So I’ve made another one exactly like it, and I’m giving it away this week!

Here are the rules:

First of all, you must follow Wake&Whimsy in order to win. If you haven’t already, you can subscribe at any time.

Secondly, all you have to do is comment on this post with one interesting fact about yourself.

I will randomly select a winner on FRIDAY, February 21st.

So if you enter the contest, be sure to check for a new post that day!

Once again, thank you for reading and following Wake & Whimsy. I hope to hear from you this week!

  1. Missed the give-a-way, but thats okay. The circle group at my church and I made prayer shawl’s for men and women and give them away as needed to anyone. They do not have to be from our church. Just anyone who needs to be hugged.

  2. Such a pretty scarf! i love infinity scarfs! My interesting fact: I raised peacocks as pets as a child!

  3. I stumbled on your blog when I was looking for a cute and easy ear warmer to knit. Really enjoy your posts. They make me smile. I’ve made 3 so far and shared with a friend! Anyway, an interesting fact, hmmm. I was in a local junior miss pageant as teenager. I was a disaster!

  4. love your blog. i follow you on bloglovin. i don’t know how how interesting this is.. but something about me is i’m addicted to finding patterns and craft tutorials online. i read about them more than i actually do them.

  5. What a beautiful scarf. Hmmm… Something interesting about me, i used to deal dice(craps) at a casino.

  6. Congratulations on your blog and I love your infinity scarf—an interesting fact about me is that I am an armpit knitter which means I knit with one needle tucked under my arm—my grandmother who was from Italy taught me and I think it is a European thing!

  7. I think my love of knitting comes from being able to feel all the different textures yarn comes in, from baby soft to bulky

  8. Hi! Congrats on your quick rise to blogging success – that is so special! I have been following you on Bloglovin’ – I hope that counts. One interesting thing about myself is that my favorite food is artichokes – I cannot get enough of them…! 🙂

    • Hi, I just found you and love that we serve and love the same Lord! I enjoy knitting with my teen nieces. We have 7 grands, 5 dogs, a horse and usually 2-3 calves. We hope to get chickens this spring. Love the cowl, the boot toppers and all your other patterns. So happy I found you!

      • I am the mother of five so I can appreciate the reason you started the blog! I have always worked full time but have always wanted to knit , probably because my mom did all her life. I am carrying on the tradition now that I have more time to do so and I am fascinated by the craft. I look forward to your future blogs and keep inspiring me. Thanks for the opportunity to chat with you( Enjoy the early years of motherhood, they fly by!)

  9. I also love to knit. The cowl you made is beautiful. My Mother was a fabulous knitter, but it took me until I was 64 years old before I got bitten by the bug!!! Now I cannot stand to sit down without a project. I am one of your 100 followers.

  10. I love all of your cute creations ^_^ Interesting fact about me: Every pet that my family owns were ones that we rescued, took in and nurtured back to health. From horses to parrots to turtles. 🙂

  11. When I awake whether it be 2AM or 6AM, I get my needles going. Knitting is one of my favorite past times.

  12. I am the mother of 11 children and have been a foster mom for 33 years.

  13. Love your blog and the giveaway scarf 🙂 Interesting fact about me–I had blonde, straight hair until I was almost 6yrs old. (Now, it’s almost-black and crazy curly.)
